In March 2025, Matrix hosted the Breakup Party—a bold, Toronto-based creator event designed to boost social content and share of influence while bringing Matrix’s empowering, sassy brand personality to life.


Centered around the theme of “breaking up with breakage and bonding with besties,” the experience featured Instagram-worthy moments like lavish florals, branded backdrops, themed desserts, and interactive stations.

Guests enjoyed personalized hair therapy sessions with Matrix stylists to explore the Build-a-Bond and Food for Soft lines, spilled secrets in the breakup confessional booth, wrote love letters to themselves (to be delivered later with a refill), and danced the night away to a breakup/empowerment-themed playlist. A brand address further connected creators to Matrix’s values, leaving them with a renewed perception of the brand as the fun and playful haircare line for consumers and professionals.

For this launch, bicom did the following actions:

  • Planned and executed a highly engaging, social-first event aligned with the Build-a-Bond line’s messaging
  • Secured strong guest attendance and content creation.
  • Managed end-to-end logistics—including vendor coordination, gifting, venue, décor, florals, and branded assets—and curated an inclusive comfort food menu, desserts, and signature cocktails/mocktails to enhance the guest experience.
